“Life begins at 66 …” a singer famous in Germany once sang - and that certainly seems to apply to my mother. The woman can’t sit still - she always has something to do. Not content with rearing four kids and looking after her grandchildren she adopts over a hundred new kids - and those want to be fed and clothed! By putting up flyers and giving talks in kindergardens, schools, old age homes, clubs, etc she draws attention to the plight of her charges and collects money for “her kids” from family, friends, businesses, and wherever she goes. It obviously keeps her young … hardly anybody believes that she is an old-age pensioner …
